How to fix the Bot Problems
Ok this method is an annoyance to people, especially farmers, but it's a method.
Bascially when entering a PvE map (Not towns, not outposts etc). A popup showing a picture as a word is shown. The player then needs to enter the word onto the screen inorder to continue with the map.
The player has 3 attempts to correctly type in the message, otherwise the player is barred from the moving in the map for 30 seconds. This effect is negated if the player is under attack. Although once attack stops, the popup will then happen.
Bascially, there will be one popup per map showing a randomised pictureword which the player needs to enter. This is similar to the randomised picture words which websites often employ to combat automated account making.
Ok i did a really BAD example of this in a screenshot. I'm at work right now, so i don't have the time to make this look pretty lol.
Whats your opinions on this? Remember that it will only be done once per entering a map, unless the player enters the word wrong three times.
EDIT: Again a bad example of it lol. The 'Login, or enter account thing' should be replaced with Enter.
And there is only 1 button.
Also i had to take this picture from any source i could find. Sorry Lord :P

i would find it a pain in the ass to do this every time. why do i have to suffer because there are bots?
if they find away to fight them whithout lowering my "entertainment factor", great!
if not, then i have no problem with the situation as it is.
what do i care if there is someone using a bot or not?

Lots of people are complaining about the bot problem in ember light camp. Its occured to some people that these bot farmers maybe the cause of the ecomony problems we are seeing. Like the hoarding of certain items to increase their prices.

not long ago someone posted an enlightening article regarding the botting industry... did you know that a single bot program costs up to 3000 us dollars? I'm sure they would find a way around this... and it would be a bit of an annoyance to the real players... nice to see an effort in coming up with a solution though.

Well people just seem to be so annoyed with bots. Its one solution, i to the problem which can be implented, and will sort out a majority of the bots. Only the professional bot makers will beable to counter this. And that would take time.

If the people can build houses from the income, that comes from farming, then why should it take long to overcome that protection?
I personally give a damn about bots.
They mine items or gold? I do not, I just want to play the game, so why I should be punished for what they do.
P.S.: The article is here:

Your article comes from real life farming. Im just talking about a way to prevent bots. Anyway real life farming in those countries is a job - It doesn't concern me as a gamer.

But sometimes farmers don't play themselves all the time, but just oversee the work of bots ... so this could also partially defeat the proposed "anti-bot" measure. And the only people punished would be people like us - who don't give a damn about bots and just want to play.

Well i don't see any other way to get rid of these bots. So far ANet can't seem to stop the problem. They have done some bans, but the problem is still there.

I remember this problem in Diablo II (only much more large-scale). Blizzard made it better by counting the number of games the player joined, and if that total exceeded a certain amount in an hour, the player was kicked. I'm not sure how this could be implemented in Guild Wars, but the idea proposed here is definitely not something I agree with.
